Great ways to use Infographics

So, I read today that infographics are 3 times more likely to be shared on social media than any other post. This gives you the opportunity to grow your reach and engage with a bigger audience.

Infographics are useful for many applications such as web ads, social media and print. In this fast paced world people want information that they don’t have to work for. Getting your message across with a bitesize visual is more likely to be seen, understood and remembered.

Here’s how to use infographics and make them work for you.

1. Use infographics to map out your customers journey.

No literally make them a map. Go here, then here and then turn left and choose the thing, put it in the basket and checkout... you get the idea.

2. Show off achievements

Do you have some impressive stats?

Showcase them, in a visual that is simple and makes sense and can be taken in, in just a fraction of the time it would take you to read it. Use graphs, pie charts but make them a little bit sexier (no one wants to see a bar chart you could make on Microsoft word - sorry Mr. Gates).

We are up to 90% more likely to notice something that’s presented to us as a visual.

3. Condense things

You have a lot to say, but you don’t want to present a potential client with the next edition of war and peace, especially on social media. Take what you’d like to say and make it visual. Simple illustrations with captions or symbols tell the same story without the time spent reading. People spend less than 10 seconds looking at a single social media post, so if you can get your message across with an image, go for it!

4. Break it down

Use charts and summaries to simplify products with many variations. This helps people to compare features of products and see costs without taking up huge amounts of space. This is a great option for brochures and product display documents - it saves huge chunks of wordy description from cluttering up your product pages, which instead can be filled with stunning product photography.
